We must keep on track! September 29, 2008
Posted by metritutus in : Uncategorized , 3commentsWell, the times right now seem to be much full of change. Most of my friends have now gone to Uni, and my main fear is that the forum and clan of Techious will fall into disarray and lack of use. I intend to try my hardest to not let this occur.
Of course there’s little I can really do other than drumming up support and trying to post lots (even in sections that I would not normally post in
). After all, one would say that it’s the admins who should be ultimately responsible for control, posting, management, etc. Regardless, I will attempt to keep the forums and clan active (and hope things won’t be bad enough that I am the only person posting quite a bit).
I’m sure it probably won’t be as bad as that, but I will be vigilant. ![]()
Moar job centre September 19, 2008
Posted by metritutus in : Uncategorized , 1 comment so farWell my visit some time back to the Job Centre went ok, but I now have another visit due TODAY!
I also failed my driving test on Wednesday, again.
Still, I’ve finally got my map to load the skybox for everyone properly, and it works!
Now to start work on the next version, as well as to try and do some more on my tf2 map in the works.
I might post a second entry today on the Job Centre meeting as well if I get round to it.
Jobs and the Future September 1, 2008
Posted by metritutus in : Uncategorized , add a commentWell, yesterday my parents stopped receiving child benefits for me, as I am over 18 and not in employment or education.
Thus I had to ring the job centre, to apply for Job-Seeker’s Allowance. This is so I get a pension many years down the line.
Anyway, following a long phone call, I now have an interview to go to next Monday.
Where the hell is all this going? Well, it just so happens that I’ve been searching for jobs lots, but repeatedly, they require previous experience in that sort of field. The trouble is, you can’t get that experience without a job; it’s a vicious circle.
What makes it worse is that University wouldn’t be the answer. While on the phone, the advisor whom I was speaking to offered to search for jobs in my area. They all require previous experience, and she added to that that being a graduate would be of no use; University degrees don’t count as experience.
It’s the recession that’s starting to tighten its grip, so say the doom-sayers. Should these people be believed, unemployment will rise as workers are made redundant, and jobs will be much harder to come by.
I can only hope I get a safe position somewhere before it’s too late.
Another thing that’s bothering me is my inability to pass my driving test. It makes me so angry that I continue to fail! It’ll be my 6th attempt this September.
